Good luck kids

Released 22 yesterday on base. Here's hoping they do well.
Aloha

Side note: Surf has been horrid of late. Onshore sloppy mess has been the standard for most of the last two weeks. Not sure when this funk is going to end but it would be nice if it happens soon. Jonesing!

1 foot and mushy

No surf for the weekend and not much hope for the coming week either. Good time to help friends get some work done.
Old Glory at 13 years old and due for replacement
8' x 16" of Star Spangled shiny and new
Way up top with my buddy Bruce
Great view of "Breakwater Road" :)
New flag up, siding repaired and a pretty nice day all the way around.

Have a great weekend Amigos!

I try, I really do

Trying to be a good boy and save pennies where I can. Not like we have so much surf that I am wearing out the boards I already have. But when Matty Garbutt puts things like this up for grabs, it makes my efforts a little more difficult. The struggle continues.... ;)

And things like this aren't helping either. Freak'n EBay!
On the plus side, the garden is looking good and we're already enjoying some freshy fresh lettuce

I have to admit, Mary Lee kinda scares Me!

MARY LEE  (click to check out her stats) has been hanging around the region for a couple weeks now. 10 miles out from the Rocks just last week. Monday while I was out solo in some clean little glassy peelers, my "fishy" sense was tingling. Can't imagine an up close and personal meeting with this lady. Plenty of Aloha and respect for this big girl but I'd really like for her never to stop by to say hello.
Whoa Baby!
Have a nice day! :)

I feel so much smarter now

It was tough giving up my old flip phone but at least now I can actually see the pictures people send me.
Yes, its the cheapest one they have. :)

Northern Virginia

Quick trip west to Front Royal, VA to visit some family we don't get to see very often. I almost forgot how much I missed that Baltimore and DC traffic. It was just awesome!
LB and his Great Uncle George
Made sure to stop at Arlington on our way home.
 Much Respect!

One of the newest members of the family. Little Marcus and his Grand Dad.

Much Aloha

Work - Play

Too much of one, not enough of the other.
Took a comp day hoping to catch up on the play.
25kt offshore breeze and not much in the way of swell.
Nice day for a sail up the coast though.

Catch up

My ride to the west side
Got to stop by and chat with Matt Garbutt on my way south. FYI....There are some mighty fine looking wave riding sleds coming out of this young man's shaping bay. Good seeing you Amigo!
 Va Beach
 Closed!  @#%!
Oops.  No @#%!
 Headed home across the CBBT
 For the Mrs
And some more "for the Mrs"

Fisherman's Island, always intriguing but I've never caught it going off

The family had a rough week with the chicks while I was gone. Seems these kids can turn cannibal in their youth and peck at each others beaks until they're a bloody mess. Some watermelon chunks seemed to slow the issue but some were just too beat up and a quarantine was necessary to prevent a massacre. Their wing feathers are starting to come in and when the box lid is open there are several who like to test them out. Pukini has no problem rounding them up and getting them back inside. The smaller kids seems to all have issues and are slowly dying off. Still hopeful that the majority will survive to be released on Base and start a long overdue new covey of Northern Bob White quail down this way.
Much Aloha
