Had a blast yesterday morning in some clean little lefts in CM. I've been neglecting my 9'2" Bojorquez of late and yesterday's session reminded me that I need to be riding this a little more than I have been.

A few from the archives.....

Came across an old photo CD from a few years ago. Kind of neat seeing these again....

After the storm....

Nasty weather most of today. More rain was not what our yard or basement needed. The wind let up and the sun actually poked out for a brief moment this afternoon. Ran over to CM to check out what the surf was up to. Plenty of size but still on the stormy side. No Mommy this weekend (off to the Pocono's for a girl's weekend out), so Luke and I just checked things from the sand. Not sure if I would've paddled out anyway.... ;)

Not much dry sand to stroll on tonight.

Missing our ROMAD....

Not many moments pass during the course of the day that I don't find myself thinking about our Nick. Looking at a sunrise or sunset, or just looking at the stars. I always wonder if he was seeing the same sights from his vantage point so far away. Stay Sharp ROMAD! Aloha Nui Loa.

Phil's "Snurfer"

Snurfer by Brunswick Corporation. I thought it was pretty cool as I had never heard of them before. (florida boy...)
Small metal fin with deep vee through the tail.

Stored in his parents home during his USCG career, it remains in great condition after 40 years.

Happy 50th to Phil

Headed west to Battle Creek, MI last friday in order to make it to an old shipmate's "half century" celebration. No way was I going to miss this birthday! Great guy, awesome kids and I am so very lucky to have them as my friends.

Thumpin Thursday

Managed a couple hours in the water up in Avalon this afternoon. With CM looking pretty poor the trip up the parkway seemed the right move. As I don't hit up Avalon much, I eased my way into the line-up and sat off from the crowd. There's a lot of erosion up there and all kinds of stuff poking up out of the sand. Good size with some sets near head high and pretty clean as well. One hefty left made the trip up worthwhile, took off late, lip threw over my head and it just walled up and peeled! Oh, yeah! After several nice waves in a row, I took off on a nothing righthander and got thumped. Literally... Board hit me right in the noggin. After checking my head for leaks all was good albeit a little sore. Would've posted a photo of the damage but its just above my eye which would require my face to be involved in the photo. Don't want to scare anyone with that! :)
