A few clean lines

Fun small kine surf on a beautiful February morning. Clean little lines in the knee to waist range. Good times with a few friends to share it with.

Gregg on clean little right

Lines in the water and lines in the sky

Slipped the CON mini-pin in the Jeep this morning. It really surprised on a couple of nice long ones and it can be a slippery little bar of soap sometimes. I sort of wrote it off last fall but now I'm thinking it needs a little bit more research. Was fun!

A couple more degrees and we'll be paddling out in slush!

The rumor in the parking lot this AM had the water temp down to 34. Been a long while since I've seen water temps that low. All I know for sure is that it was COLD!  Waist high clean lines warmed the soul, but for only so long.....

Whooped!

If anything good came out of today, it was that the 20 something year olds weren't doing a whole lot better than I was. On the other hand, at 47, I should have known better to have paddled out in the first place. Stupid me, I paddled out twice! Overhead NE swell wrapping in, off/side-shore wind cranking with the current hauling down the beach. Saw an outside set roll through at Broadway that was well past the OH range. Caught a decent shoulder on a fat one as soon as I got outside and then off toward the Cove I went. Found the current impossible to maintain position and then got slaughtered and dispatched to the sand. Tried Grant St. only to be whipped once more.
Note to self: Don't do that again!  :o

My friend Sol....

After his unfortunate firecracker accident back in the 90s, my friend had to leave his NYC home in an effort to outrun a loan shark he borrowed money from to pay the mountain of medical bills he had acquired. Fortunately he found a good woman out west and is doing quite well. Even though he lives under an alias and he's missing a few finger tips, he surfs everyday and still finds time to put out the best Jerky you'll ever put in your mouth...

Good ole Sol and his nubs...

Oh, and I got my Gary Propper back from my ding repair buddy.
Oh, and I scored some funtastic little longboard waves with my ding repair buddy this morning.
Oh, and the air temps were above freezing for a change!
Thank you February 1st  :)
