its been a while...

It has been a while since my last posting here on "Breakwater Road". My apologies to anyone who may check in here from time to time. Guess you can say that I fell into a rut, so to speak. Dig'n my way out and hopeful the worst is in my rear view mirror.
My right elbow and left foot both decided to mutiny in the recent weeks past. Fortunately my good friend "Captain Morgan" has stood vigil and saw me through the rough days. ;)

Surf Stuff:  Prior to my being "beached", I had the opportunity to ride a few waves on my neighbor's little G&S from the early 70s. 6'6"ish and surprising. Quite a fun and fast little bar of soap. Was happy to be able to ride it as I was not expecting much from myself or the board to be honest. Its been years since I rode something this small and came away saying that it was fun. :)
Can't wait to get back out there!

The cool little vintage round tail that fell in my lap back in February is watertight and ready to get wet.
I failed on quite a few attempts to get my hands on a fin. Finally the stars aligned and I was able to grab a nice 10" Vari-Set on Ebay. Eager to see how she goes.

Send Waves! ;)

It's been a long HOT Summer!

Oh, and it's been FLAT too. Got a fun hour at sunrise this morning with just a few friends.
Thigh high bombs ;) for an hour before the wind and tide put a stop to our fun.
On positive note, our pool has received more use this year than any other that I can recall.
And its only a few steps from the beer fridge.  :)

Matt W on his new Garbutt Custom

What a great match of board & rider.

Matt's newbie

My surf amigo and future doctor, Matt W. posing with his new sled (R) from the shaping room of
 Matt Garbutt.
Stoked for both of these guys. Matt rips on his Dad's vintage G&S Frye (L) and has been wanting to get a copy made so his Dad can hang the OG Frye back in the family trophy room. ;)
While my surfboard shaping Delaware shredmeister amigo Matt G. put in some serious hours capturing each subtle curve and contour of this beautiful shred sled copy. Eager to see it in the line-up doing what it was made to do! Nice job guys.

Seems that I was lost for a while.... ;)

Just to keep it surf related...... A lovely 8'10" DC as seen on the Ebay.  How sweet that would be to ride!

It is JULY and its pretty much been Flatsville, USA round these parts.
But that's all good because it just allows more time to hang out at the Goofyfoot's Garage and chill in the POOL!
 The DLR Family
We even got to play Granny and Pappy for a little bit. LOL ;)
Was nice of the USCG to delay B. Rob's cutter in the shipyard.
Gave us the chance to hang out twice this summer.
This babysitting stuff is easy. ;)  Too cute!
Much Aloha!

Was very kind of the wave lords to provide the perfect gift this morning. : )
Good times!

A little something is heaps better than nothing at all...

Was lumpy but it was surf-worthy.
Very much appreciated!
