Cold water!!!

Fun surf this AM. Very clean with a little size to it. Water was C-O-L-D!!! Guess the south swell upwelling is in full effect. Chuck D. was sporting a 4/3 with boots in order to beat the chill. Isn't it almost July???? Regardless, fun morning. Sadly, I think I may have fried my camera. Found water in the battery socket when I got home. Drying out now in hopes that it will be OK..... :(

J-Rod about two seconds before a big roundhouse cuttie!

Joe B. tested the water temp. He decided that 15 minutes was long enough in the cool water. Four years in S. Carolina spoiled him. ;)

Choppy Monday Surprise

First look this AM showed onshore and looking pretty sloppy. Decided to paddle out just to get wet. After a few little ones that lined up rather nice the wind started to back off and the swell picked up in size. Close period wind swell but the sets grew to near shoulder high and made for a real fun session. Took out the 9'8" Jacobs I got off craigslist last summer. Hadn't ridden it in a while and it was fun to get her out in the water again.

Micro waves

Had a few surfs in the small stuff this week. Early morning sessions yielded clean little peelers and ultra clear water. Kinda neat going down the line and watching the sandbar go by underneath. Just doesn't happen all that often. Nothing epic just real fun. No photos. Kept forgetting to put the camera in the car.

Not much surf but....

Haven't had too much water time of late. A little bump here and there but otherwise pretty blah... Did get a sweet Father's Day present about a week early. Our 20yr old son returned from Afghanistan safe and sound, and his older brother arrived home from SC for the summer, a few days later. First time all five of us have been together in quite a long time. Good times! :)

Thursday at the rocks...

Picked up the LB from school and headed over to the rock pile on the word there was a little swell working. Didn't look like much but man did they just line up and peel. All the way to the sand! Shared the fun with Jeff Walden and a couple of dolphin that came in and showed off for a few minutes. I think they were as stoked on the little swell as we were. LB did the sandcastle thing and coaxed Dad into building a few at the waterline so he could watch the waves eat them up. Picked up some trash off the beach and headed home. Nice end to a rough workday!

Fun!
