Mr. S.B.O. himself....

Surprise SNJ visit by the Bayou ripper, Mr. Shawn Garry, "the" S/B/O kingpin. Paddled out with Shawn and the boys in a late afternoon crazy onshore chop-fest. Was nice to see him in the line-up again. Even though the waves weren't all that impressive, his surfing was!

Mid 80s, Richard Price shaped, Richard Cram model. Picked this one up off a Florida craigslist ad a while back and my sister and brother-n-law picked it up for me. This was the first time I got to check it out in person and was stoked to see how clean it is.

Sights and sounds of West Pensacola, FL

Flew down for a quick visit and to attend the HS graduation of my niece. Got to check out a ball game, slide some tiny waves with my bro-in-law and nephew, see some blue angels, check out a rare Agave cactus (century plant) bloom and yes, I did stop and smell the plumeria. ; ) While my hometown has changed tons in the last 20 something years, always a nice time in the city of five flags.

Early AM Poverty...

Finally found some swell wrapping into CM. Early morning session at Poverty with just a few guys out. Had checked the Rocks before 6am but the north wind had already turned things ugly over there. Was stoked to find Povs doing its thing. Hollow, clean, fast and shallow. Had some funs ones and got bounced a few times as well. Fun surf!

last night

Stuck one of the fins I recently got from John Wesley in my 7' 9" Vaquero last night and had a fun surf in some onshore rollers. Not all that clean out there last night but there was size and they were lining up. Digging the flex in these fins and the drive they give off the bottom. Had to have a little kiss and make up session with my 7' 9". Not quite sure why I was willing to part with this board last week. Glad its still here with me.

Sunrise session...

I was the first one in the parking lot this AM and it was definately a good move to be the early bird. Just a touch of an offshore breeze grooming the waist to chest peelers to near perfection. Matt, Loni, Roach and "Doc" Curley paddled out almost right behind me to join in on the fun conditions. Good times were had by all. Blurry after session photo by yours truly....

Side note: There have been a few new locals in the line-up of late. At least two little 2'-3' dolphins have made an appearance this spring.  The little guys were out again this morning alongside their moms & dads enjoying the waves with all of us. So stoked to have them around.
