Let's Ride event - Strathmere.....

Good times up in Strathmere this afternoon with a couple of vintage board riding Amigos. Put together by my buddy Roach, it was a "bring your old boards and let's ride em" gathering. Sadly, the south wind cranked up and made for poor wave conditions but the STOKE was alive and well and I do believe a very good time was had by all. Eager to do it again......

CON mini pin - done. For now...

Well, its done for now and she's not much to look at, but at least its water tight once more. Took it out for a spin yesterday in some mushy waist high rollers. The waves were more suited to logging but it was nice to get her underfoot on a few waves. Seems that it will take a little more juice to really see what she really has to offer. Gets into waves easy but really didn't get a good solid feel for it yet. Seems like it really wanted to run but there just wasn't enough swell. Looking forward to a better day so I can see if she lights up.

LB gets his first board

We scored a sweet little 6'2" Inter-Island single fin from Delaware ripper/shaper/vintage board hound, Matt Garbutt yesterday. Diamond tail, nice humping S-deck and very clean for its age. It should be getting wet this weekend. Stoked!

 

 

The CON Project - progress

First posted back on January 27, the CON mini pin is coming along and nearing completion. Or should I say, its getting close enough to take it out for a ride. Installed a new fin box and filled the gouge with a few quarts of Bondo, which by the way, isn't as easy to work with as I once thought. Lost half a quart due to me accidentally mixing a hot batch. Oops!

For sale in the region but I am sitting here 2nd in line for the purchase rights.... Here's hoping whomever is ahead of me decides to back out...... 9'2" and looking fun!

Vintage Board nite....

Roach showed up last night with a bevy of classic logs. His recent addition was a 1968 10' Greek SS. Super flexy and a wicked looking fin. He was holding two more awaiting delivery to their new owners. A gorgeous 9'8" Rick Dru Harrison Improvisor and a 9'6" Bing PTLW that is heading over to Matty G. in Delaware. Awesome scores for these parts...... Sadly, since my camera is in California with the Family, all I have to offer is this crappy cell phone shot.... Aloha!

Off to California....

The Family headed west to lend a hand to family out in San Diego. Stoked they could go but wishing I could've made the trip with them. Way too quiet around here with them gone.....

Ran into an old friend today.....

Stepped out of the garage and an old friend was waiting just outside the door to say hello. He stops by every once and a while just to let us know he's still patrolling the neighborhood..... :)
