Peep-Peep

Day 4 - Due to the recent cold nights we've shrunk the roaming area to keep the chicks from straying too far from the warmth of the heat lamps. Lost 5 little ones so far and hopeful that we wont loose any more. Surprisingly the little one that arrived with the use of only one leg is still hanging tough. He gets picked on quite a bit but we're stoked to see he's still healthy and part of the family.
Dig it!

Hot Chicks!

OK, maybe I should say "WARM" chicks instead of hot. :)
Day one of our Northern Bob White Quail raising experiment. More to follow.

Shloppy early

Front passed early this morning turning the wind offshore. At 7 it was still pretty disorganized and sloppy.

Fortunately it cleaned up by l1 and turned out to be one of the better sessions in recent months.
Stiff offshores with sets in the head high range.

Go Surf! :)

Sprung

The back yard garden is coming along pretty nicely. Spinach & Lettuce already starting to sprout.
 Plum blossoms
Rare occurrence in Cape May last weekend. An old 7'8" Tanaka V-bottom stolen from a friends yard. :(
Give a shout if you spot it.

No photos, but the surf was pretty super fun today. Sunny, glassy and feeling good in a 4/3. Oh yeah!

Reproduction -vs- Original

Picked up a reproduction WAVE set fin  to try something a little different in my 8'6" Weber.

Nothing wrong with the original, just curious.
Did discover that all WAVE sets are not exactly alike. While I did get the new white fin to fit, it did take a little modification with a rat-tail file in order to get the rear screw hole to line up.

New re-pro base is about a 1/4" shorter overall and I have an 1/8" gap both forward and aft in the box. Seems to seat OK so I just need some swell to go and test it out.

It's all realative...

It may sound weird, but 43 degree water was feeling pretty good this morning. Happy to switch from my hood to a cap after this cold @$$ Winter. Can't wait to climb back into a 4/3!

Pit Stop

Mr. Roach stopped by for a nice visit last night and to drop off a few "items" for a certain Delaware ripper.  All of us here at the Goofyfoot's Garage are always happy to have surfboards stop by for a visit. Old, new, bruised, sparkling, battered or shinning, all are welcome. Enjoy checking out the lines, curves, colors and fins. Love em all!
Cool little 7' Surf-Jet. Dig the outline and the neat resin swirl on her belly.

LB liked the looks of this little early 80s single fin. Told him those were all the rage when I was his age. :)
